Embattled Twitter putting lives in danger

William Legate is doxxing Trump supporters

Earlier this year, Twiiter announced its first ever decline in revenue. And CEO Jack Dorsey seems to be doubling down on a losing strategy: publicly claiming to make the site more “advertiser friendly” (read censoring non-leftwing politics) while privately enabling vicious trolls on a political witch hunt.

After William Legate declared war on pro-Trump Internet forums last year, he was humiliated when #Nipplegate went viral, exposing his XL salami slices to the world. He immediately fled the country and went dark for a time but now he’s back with a vendetta.

It would seem he’s offering cash payments for information on Trump supporters in order to expose their identities.

Not only is this this is against Twitter’s rules of service, it’s extremely dangerous in the current political climate, where anyone to the right of anarcho-communist is labelled a “nazi”. But as we’ve seen repeatedly over the last few years, the left gets to operate outside of their own rules.

He’s not even trying to hide what he’s doing:

Legate is also harassing Trump supporters on other social media platforms, using typical stalker behaviour to intimidate people into silence.

Who is William Legate?

William Christopher LeGate (born September 3, 1994) calls himself an entrepreneur and computer programmer, but you may know him from his obsessive, unhinged thread replies to President Trump’s every tweet.

Paypal billionaire Peter Thiel awarded this troll a $100,000 fellowship. Toward the end of his Thiel Fellowship, LeGate began creating the Ponder mobile application of which he was listed as co-founder and CEO. Have you ever heard of Ponder? Me neither.

Legate’s personal achievements are clearly overinflated (he’s done nothing of note since accepting Thiel cash), although he is connected to Silicon Valley heavyweights.

Tinder co-founders Sean Rad and Justin Mateen both invested in the app, and Justin’s brother Tyler Mateen was a co-founder of Ponder. Legate’s business partner, Tyler Mateen, is the brother of Tinder co-founder Justin Mateen. (No relation to Orlando terrorist Omar Mateen). Justin Mateen (born March 31, 1986) is a Jewish American internet entrepreneur of Iranian origin who is the co-founder and former CMO of popular dating app Tinder. He is also an early stage tech investor and company advisor. Net worth $250m. Justin Mateen’s sister, Alexa Mateen, also works for Tinder, where she is head of US Expansion. She graduated from University of Southern California.

It really doesn’t matter whether Legate is a paid operative or merely a zealot on his own hate crusade.

Only one question needs to be asked of Jack Dorsey: why is William Legate allowed put lives in danger?
