State-enforce homosexuality:  Yes campaign spams the country with emergency SMS

The idea of state-enforced homosexuality is a very real prospect. Yesterday the country received unsolicited text messages telling us how to vote.

“The Marriage Equality Survey forms have arrived! Help make history and vote YES for a fairer Australia.”

It’s still unclear how the yes campaign pulled this off from a technical perspective. Some suspect the messages were broadcast via emergency communications channels or that telcos sold their information. Only one thing is certain: this presumptive arrogance has created more no voters.

The Spam Act 2003 prevents unsolicited commercial messages, but it would seem propagandising the nation on a critical vote is perfectly acceptable.
